11 baby bargains for new parents on a budget from Money Mum Gemma Bird

With the cost of living crisis, today I’m sharing my top baby bargains, to help you save money. Firstly, there’s no need to need to buy everything new – look for your NCT Nearly New sale and Google in your area for local mummy meet-ups and swaps, including local Facebook pages for new mums. 

Also, check out boot fairs for pre-loved bargains, and remember you can always repaint furniture and that second-hand plastic item can easily be disinfected. – Also sign up for Boots Baby Club and Emma’s Diary for freebies. Here are some of my favorite deals in the shops right now for new mums.


1.£6.50 for 10 packs of baby wipes  – you always need these to hand, so it’s good to stock up!

2. I would suggest Aldi nappies, with my daughter I and found them to be good value & good quality

3. To save a few pennies on clothing, as they grow so fast – why not try F&F at Tesco or  Matalan, both have amazing baby clothes at great prices 

4. Head to your local B&M store to get Johnson’s baby lotion for just £1 –it’s a market leader  and is an amazing product

5. If your little one goes to swimming lessons,  I’ve always found Huggies to be the best Swim Nappies – and they’re a great price at £3.99 from B&M 

6. For the Moses basket fitted sheets –  Tesco has a a two-pack for just £5.00 – great on price and quality.

7. I’ve always found that Poundland does the best cover-all bibs These are the best cover-all bibs – good value for only £1, and it covers the whole body and washes well too.


8. Avoid food being thrown on the floor with these suction bowls at poundland!  Not only are these just £1, but the suction element means they can’t be thrown on the floor!

9. One of my best-kept secrets is www.online4baby.com it’s a lovely site for new mums with some great affordable bargains 

10.  This rocking moses basket stand is an amazing price from Wayfair at just £26.96 – and in plain white works equally well for a boy or girl

11.This £15 Ikea highchair is a bestseller for a reason – it’s excellent value and will easily wipe clean
