Welcome back to another post in our ‘does it work?’ series. Today, our mums try switching their regular ketchup to Real Good Ketchup; an allergen-free, no added sugar ketchup that’s lower in salt.
What they say:

Ideal for fitness fans, those with diabetes type 2, kids, vegans and those following healthy eating plans, Real Good Ketchup is made from tasty Mediterranean tomatoes for a deliciously rich, tomatoey taste and is available in a BPA free, 100% recyclable easy squeezy bottle.
What our mums say:
Josie, Mum to Thomas (aged 6)

I popped the ketchup out on the table ready for dinner and swapped it with our normal branded version. I wanted to see if my 6 year old Thomas (a ketchup lover and picky eater) would notice it wasn’t our usual one.
I thought he would as the bottle is smaller but otherwise very similar. He did comment on the picture of all those extra tomatoes on the front and happily squirted some on his plate. He dipped his chips in and his sausage. So far no comment. He did then say ‘it’s a bit strong!’. By strong, he means quite tomatoey! I tried it and so did my hubby and we LOVED it. It tasted like the sauce you are given in a cafe or restaurant, made with real tomatoes. We don’t usually like the salt and sugar-free ketchup but this was really yummy!
Holly, mum to 2 children (ages 2 and 12)
I was excited to try the real food tomato ketchup as it had 78% less salt, being a parent to a 12 year old and 2 year old I do worry about the amount of salt in their diet and knowing how much ketchup we get through!
I didn’t tell my 12-year old that it was different from our usual branded ketchup to see if he would say anything and he didn’t and carried on enjoying as usual.
After he had finished I told him what it was and asked him what he thought he said it was really nice and had lots of flavour and had a bit of a tang, My 2-year-old also quite happily ate it no problem I enjoyed the ketchup I could taste the difference it seemed more fruity and tangy but I liked it and liked knowing it had less salt.
I’d happily recommend it and would buy it again!
Nicola, mum to Heston 4 and Beatrix 6 weeks (congratulations Nicola!)

Living in a house with 1 fully grown ketchup monster, and 1 mini ketchup monster, when we got the chance to try this tomato sauce as a family I thought it was an ideal opportunity.
So far, I’ve had no complaints regarding the taste of the sauce, in fact I personally preferred it to the usual sauce we use.
The ingredients are very similar to other tomato ketchups, with all the contents being exactly as expected and within the normal healthy criteria, making it a great choice for my family.
I would definitely continue using this tomato sauce as opposed to the previous one we used, a great taste, great ingredients, and the no added sugar was a massive bonus.
Sammie, mum to Joshua
It’s definitely Real Good Ketchup! No complaints from myself, partner and 5 yr old son. Loved the strong tomato taste and the fact that it also had 78% less salt than regular ketchup. No added sugar is a great bonus and you realise you don’t even need it. Highly recommend.
